London turns on to Toyota Prius hire cars

It has just become easier for businesses in and around London to beat the congestion charge: by hiring a Toyota Prius from Europcar.

The hybrid Prius is exempt from London’s congestion charge. And is now available for hire at all of Europcar’s London bases.

As well as side-stepping the congestion charge, the petrol-electric Toyota Prius keeps fuel bills low. At slower speeds it runs on electric power only. That means better fuel economy and, during electric-only propulsion, zero tailpipe emissions.

Hybrids like the Prius are at their best in urban environments – like London. On faster roads, such as on the motorway, a hybrid can be less fuel-efficient than a diesel-powered equivalent, because they rely on petrol-only power at higher speeds.
