TOYOTA Prius and Auris models have been chosen by Lord Combustion Services, for their all-hybrid vehicle fleet.

The idea being that their Toyota’s will improve the company’s green profile and reduce running costs for its Engineers.

The West Midlands-based business, which specialises in the service, maintenance and installation of commercial heating systems, is dropping diesel in favour of hybrid power with the Toyota models.

The change is part of an initiative led by the company’s managing director Stuart Smith, to improve the company’s environmental credentials in business contract negotiations, and support the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

He said: “As a green company specialising in low carbon heating solutions for our customers, we have turned our attention to the performance of our vehicle fleet.

“Up to now we have mainly used diesel vehicles, but with new concerns and regulations regarding NOx and the proven energy-saving qualities of Toyota hybrids, we are committing our business to building an all-hybrid fleet.”
