VAUXHALL is now offering the Zafira Tourer with its new, more efficient 1.6 CDTi diesel engine.

The 1.6 is replacing the previous 1.7-litre engine across the Vauxhall range, and in the Zafira Tourer, it offers a healthy 136 PS and 320 Nm of torque. CO2 emissions are just 109g/km.

The new engine will put the Zafira in the 14% company car tax band – the old 1.7 is taxed at 20%

The Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTi accelerates from rest to 60 mph in 10.4 seconds and also complies with the tough forthcoming Euro 6 emissions regulations. The new drivetrain is equipped with BlueInjection selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, which uses the AdBlue additive already used extensively by trucks.

“Vauxhall continues to develop its award-winning model range with new and exciting technology,” said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. “This new powertrain is Vauxhall’s cleanest diesel engine in its illustrious 110 year history.”

The same engine will be saving company car tax bills across the Vauxhall range.
