For the most part the rest of the Adam Rocks Air follows the established Adam recipe – lots of unusual colours and options that allow owners to personalise their cars in enormous detail – but it also sees the introduction of Vauxhall’s new high-efficiency 115PS 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and six-speed gearbox, which will also be turning up in the next Corsa.
In the Adam, the new engine gives a top speed of 121 mph, and 60 can be reached from rest in just 9.9 seconds.
Combined fuel consumption is 55.4 mpg, with CO2 emission of 119g/km. The new engine also complies with the latest Euro 6 emission standards.
The existing four-cylinder engines – a 1.4-litre with 87PS and a 1.2-litre with 70PS – will continue to be offered alongside the new power plant.
Prices for the Adam Rock Air start at £14,695, and the first cars will be delivered in September. UK order books are open now.
