Ford Focus ECOnetic: 100% first year writing down capital allowances model on its way

A NEW Ford Focus will be launched early next year with emissions of just 99g/km.

The latest version of the Focus ECOnetic range features Ford Auto-Start-Stop, energry-saving brake recuperation technology, and Ford Eco Mode – a driver information system to help the driver improve economy.

Businesses will benefit because the Focus ECOnetic will qualify for 100% first year writing down allowances (WDA), and £0 Vehicle Excise Duty.

While drivers will benefit from low company car tax – just 13% benefit-in-kind banding.

Power for the new Ford Focus ECOnetic from Ford’s 109PS 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi engine. Fuel economy is 74.2mpg.

There will also be Focus ECOnetic five-door and Focus ECOnetic estate models without start-stop which will have CO2 emissions of 104g/km – good enough for the 13% company car tax banding, but without qualifying for 100% WDA.

These new fuel-saving technologies will also spread to other Ford models: “The new Focus ECOnetic is particularly significant as it paves the way for some of these technologies to be implemented into our core vehicle series in the near future,” confirmed Dr Thilo Seibert, Ford’s manager of CO2 technologies.

New Ford Focus ECOnetic range

  • Focus ECOnetic 5dr Start-Stop 100PS: 99g/km CO2; 74.2mpg
  • Focus ECOnetic 5dr and Estate 109PS: 104g/km; 70.6mpg
  • Focus ECOnetic 5dr and Estate 90PS: 104g/km; 70.6mpg
