New generation i20 offers class leading interior space – virtually comparable to a family hatchback from the class above

“The key for me is getting the RVs right on this car, which must be over and above the outgoing model. The Focus and Polo are the RV leaders for me and we have to get up there to compete.

Why RVs are important for new generation i20?

  • RVs is a contraction of Residual Values
  • Residual Values are the amount of money left in the car when it is time to sell
  • Higher RVs impact on contract hire lease prices and overall running costs
  • The higher the RV, the lower the contract hire lease rate
  • So a good RV rate for new generation i20 will make it cheaper to lease

“We need to have strong offers and strong lease rentals on Hyundai Contract Hire and with the top 10 contract hire leasing companies when the car goes on sale next year.

A full range of finance offers will be available to small businesses and SME small fleets when the new generation i20 goes on sale in January 2014

“In addition it’s critical we have good offers for those small businesses that prefer to purchase on HP and PCP. So we must have the complete suite of SME finance offerings for new generation i20 from day one.”

There’s no word yet on pricing but it’s likely to be similar to the outgoing model, which currently starts at £11,130 and tops out at £13,680.

The new generation i20 will receive its public debut at the Paris Motor Show (04-09 October 2014).
