New Insignia model replaces Vauxhall Vectra

Vauxhall Insignia is the new name for the Vectra replacement.

And with the new name comes dramatic new styling features.

The Vauxhall Insignia features a taut, muscular appearance with a rakish rear roofline.

The new Vauxhall Insignia will be available as both a five-door hatch and as a four-door saloon.

There will be five engines powering the Insignia at launch.

Three are petrol units, including a 140PS four-cylinder and a 260PS V6. And two will be 2.0-litre direct-injection diesel engines, either 130PS or 160PS. All meet the strict Euro 5 emission regulations.

All engines in the new Insignia will be offered with either six-speed manual transmissions or a six-speed auto.

Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions will be available, while other features include ambient interior lighting, and adaptive lighting technology for safer driving at night.

The Insignia will receive its world premiere at the British International Motor Show in London on 22 July.
