New Leon heads up revised low-emission Ecomotive range

BUSINESSES looking to reduce the company car tax impact for their staff – and the cost of running company cars – should take a look at SEAT’s new Leon Ecomotive five-door hatchback.

With a new 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine – replacing the old 1.9 TDI unit – the Leon Ecomotive has company car tax appeal at just 13%; and business car manager appeal with 100% writing down allowances and zero rated road tax, thanks to its 99g/km CO2 emissions.

The SEAT Leon Ecomotive features a range of fuel saving technology: auto start-stop; brake regeneration; low rolling resistance tyres; and aerodynamic tweaks. The result is 74.3mpg fuel economy, with a range of almost 900 miles between fill-ups.

“I understand that small businesses might be wary of the SEAT brand, but they needn’t be” commented managing director, Peter Wyhinny.

“Large companies are already endorsing the new Leon Ecomotive,” continued Mr Wyhinny. “British Gas, for instance, has just placed an order for 500 new Leon Ecomotives – it will save them thousands on VED alone. If we’re making sense to the large fleets, we should also make sense to small businesses, too.”

Joining the revised Leon in the Ecomotive range of fuel-efficient models are new versions of the compact MPV models the Altea Ecomotive and Altea XL Ecomotive.

The bigger cars are powered by the same 1.6-litre diesel engine with CO2 emissions of 119g/km (18% company car tax band) and fuel economy of 62.8mpg.

All Ecomotive models are available in S and SE trim, while the Altea range also adds an Emocion model, too.

Standard specification includes air conditioning, 16-inch alloys, one-shot electric windows all round,anti-skid ESP, tyre pressure monitoring, and radio/CD with MP3 compatibility and Aux-in.
