New Michelin best pub grub guide for hungry company car drivers

BUSY company car drivers trying to escape the monotony of eating at the main fast-food chains during long days on the road have an alternative – Britain’s rapidly improving pub grub.
The new Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide 2013 is published today, and highlights 550 of the UK’s best pubs for food. Of the pubs featured, 81 are included for the first time.
“The standard of pub cooking just keeps getting better and better”, according to the Editor of the Guide, Rebecca Burr. “Pubs are often the heartbeat of the local community and it’s been exciting to see that more and more of them are specialising in their own regional ingredients.”
The Guide also highlights the value for money offered by the best pubs.
“Chefs are becoming more adept at using lesser-known cuts as a means of creating cost conscious set menus, particularly at lunch”, explains Burr. “They are also more flexible than in the past, with bar and restaurant menus becoming more easily interchangeable. Some pubs have even started offering breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea.”
So there should be something available for hungry company car drivers whatever the time of day or business appointment.
