SUBARU will announce full details of the new Forester later this month, but better CO2 emissions and improved economy are among the claims for the fourth generation of the SUV.
The Subaru Forester started life as an early crossover that looked a bit like a jacked-up estate car but has morphed over the years into a mainstream SUV, a competitor for vehicles such as the Toyota RAV 4 and Honda CR-V.
Two things have remained consistent throughout the years, though – Subaru’s famous boxer engines and Symmetric All-Wheel Drive system. The boxer is available in 2.0-litre diesel and petrol forms.
Diesel on-the-road prices start at £24,995 for the 2.0D X, while petrol models start at £25,495 for the 2.0i XE. There will be a 240PS direct-injection turbocharged petrol, recalling the Porsche-worrying high-performance second-generation Forester XT.
