Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi Visia PureDrive

What is it?

AN UPDATED version of Nissan’s popular crossover/family hatchback. New Qashqai gets restyled lights, a fresh grille and some minor dashboard tweaks. Bigger news is a Bluemotion-style PureDrive badge, which means low CO2 emissions thanks to longer gear ratios, low rolling resistance tyres and improved aerodynamics. Available on the 1.5dCi Visia it costs £16,695.

What’s hot?

  • Those CO2 emissions: 129g/km
  • And 57.6mpg combined too
  • Highly competitive company car benefit-in-kind rates
  • Smooth diesel may only boast 105bhp but performance is punchy
  • New LED lights look good
  • Cabin features quality materials and lots of space
  • Lofty driving position gives a great view
  • Re-tuned suspension has sharpened the handling a little…
  • …but not at the expense of the ride, which is so comfortable
  • Strong used demand means residuals are holding up well

What’s not?

  • Not much really. Rear seats don’t quite fold flat…
  • …and rear visibility could be better

Business Car Manager Road Test Rating

This revised Qashqai is going to be a hit. As before, it’s good to drive, features decent cabin space and a very soothing ride. But it now looks a little more distinctive and thanks to the addition of an economical PureDrive variant, there’s even more appeal for business drivers. Well done Nissan.
