Business Car Manager verdict
Over dinner – or rather, over a BBQ – Nissan told us that the new X-Trail is for drivers who perhaps need seven seats but can’t bear the thought of driving a people carrier. For the businessperson who likes to play hard at weekend and then commute to work in comfort and style.
And in that respect, the new Nissan X-Trail works very well. It’s comfortable, practical, good looking and safe.
But in our opinion, it’s the five-seat X-Trail that makes the most sense. The larger boot and increased rear space means the X-Trail is more practical than the Qashqai and there’s very little in the way of penalty for choosing the four-wheel drive over the two-wheel drive variant.
The all-new Nissan X-Trail feels like a thoroughly modern interpretation of the classic SUV recipe. Company car drivers have never had it so good.
