The Citroen Cactus mixes both form and function by covering the car’s exposed panels in a soft skin with built-in air capsules. These capsules aim to protect the bodywork from unnecessary scratches when driving around town, and will prevent dinks and dents when parking in close proximity to other cars.

Although this technology is just a concept at the moment, we can expect to see in on new Citroen models within a couple of years.

The benefit to business car managers and company cars drivers is plainly obvious. Have you ever nicked the bumper when pulling out of a tight spot, or come back to your parked car to find someone has opened their door straight into the side of yours? Well the Airbumps technology effectively eliminates this worry, protecting both your car, and those around you.

Having this kind of kit installed could save an individual hundreds of pounds a year, while the total cost to business car managers of a small SME company car fleet could easily run into thousands over the course of a year.
