However regular car servicing at a certified garage can help prevent breakdowns, says BSI Kitemark.

BSI is an independent body that owns and operates the Kitemark scheme.

It aims to improve quality and safety. The motorist should know what work is being done; and presented with clear and understandable service – every time.

To obtain the Kitemark garages must address these key areas of car servicing:

    • customer service;
    • customer satisfaction;
    • customer facilities – such as waiting areas;
    • staff competencies – quality of workmanship;
    • ability to use the equipment available;
    • fair and transparent billing.
