Business Car Manager Verdict
While there wasn’t ultimately a whole lot wrong with the Megane as was, with this latest facelift package in place (the second since its UK intro in 2009), Renault’s C-segment warrior gains a fresh adrenalin boost to keep it on the pace.
Now reshaped, better specced and more keenly priced, the Megane can put up a more spirited fight against the likes of the Astra and the Focus at the heart of the volume company car market.
This 1.5 dCi 110 edition with mid level Dynamique TomTom trim comes over as a practical, efficient, well balanced drive and has pretty keen running costs numbers to back it all up
Still, there are more enticing versions around. We would just say that if you can find a way of getting into the sportier Megane GT Line with 1.6 dCi 130 engine (just one level up and for not that much extra cost), then your driving experience will pack a lot more of the vaunted va va va voom….
