What’s not?
- Despite the adaptive chassis control, the big MPV is still no ‘driver’s’ car and gives little reward for trying to hustle it round bends at pace. But then again, your passengers wouldn’t be overly pleased either
- Very little to distinguish itself from its bigger brand cousin, the VW Sharan and its £1,000 P11D saving on the Sharan will soon be lost versus the German’s high residual value estimates.
Verdict on the SEAT Alhambra 2.0TDI 150PS
A worthy contender in the MPV market but it’s hard to see the Spanish company’s version taking many sales away from the VW master brand on this type of vehicle.
The SEAT Alhambra has always played the value card well, but the price differential on this new model needs to be bigger to really make its mark on the forecourts and into the small fleets of small businesses and SME firms. So worth holding on until the discounts start being applied and see what the contract hire leasing deals are like.
