SEAT Leon ST Ecomotive: What’s it like after 1,200 miles

Leon 800
A trip to IKEA is perfect for breaking in your new business car.

This has meant that in almost 1,200-miles, I’ve visited the petrol station just twice for £60 fill ups. With zero road tax and a company car tax rate of just 14%, this SEAT could prove to be a very cost-effective and economical business car choice.[contentblock id=9 img=gcb.png]

Trips to IKEA and the dump have proven how practical the 570-litre boot is, although its biggest test, a family holiday in a couple of weeks, should give it a proper workout.

 Facts, figures, likes and dislikes

P11D – £21,940

Company car tax – £51 per month for a basic rate tax payer

Official mpg – 85.6mpg

Our average mpg – 52mpg over 1,200 miles

Our best mpg – 61.3mpg on a 228 mile trip

We like – Comfortable and refined performer, specification, high-quality interior, impressive economy, low company car tax exposure, bright LED headlights

We don’t like – noisy engine at idle, touch-sensitive sat nav not intuitive, unsettled ride over unmade surfaces

In fact, the only problem I’ve experienced so far with the Leon is keeping it clean. Rubbish weather or just keeping my kids entertained at the weekend, means shamefully I’ve yet to give the Leon a proper wash. Thankfully Technical Grey, as it’s called, is good at hiding muck and dead stuff.

See how I get on holidaying with the Leon in the next report.
