Even the popular A5 Coupe is available in Audi ultra specification.

How much does it cost?

Well, that depends on the trim level – just like any other Audi model you can get an ultra model in a variety of different specifications. The A6 Saloon ultra SE starts from £30,985, with the ultra Black Edition costing £35,010. Meanwhile, the A4 ultra SE, starts from £28,320. Importantly, Audi is saying they won’t cost any more than the outgoing model.

How does Audi ultra compare with non-ultra Audi models?

There are no longer any non-ultra A6 2.0 TDI models but in the A4, an ultra model boasts 163hp, 109g/km and 67.3mpg giving a company car tax banding of 17%. The standard 2.0 TDI Multitronic has 150hp, while claiming 58.9mpg and emitting 127g/km – a company car tax band of 21%.

How does Audi ultra compare to the competition?

We’ve only driven the A6 ultra but it’s a seriously refined car. The diesel is so smooth and quiet that we’d have no problem labeling it one of the best four-cylinders we’ve driven. The 114g/km CO2 figure betters the BMW 520d’s 119g/km emissions, too, placing it one tax band lower than the BMW. The A4 ultra, meanwhile, boasts identical figures to the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics.
