Business Car Manager Road Test Verdict
Lexus promised a lot with the new GS and while there are some improvements it’s not the exciting luxury saloon we were hoping for. On the plus side, there’s more space inside, the interior is made of far better quality materials and GS is generally much better to drive.
But it still looks a little anonymous and it’s still a relaxing and comfortable way to get your destination. In fact, the appealing part remains the level of equipment on board and the fact Lexus dealers have a well-deserved reputation as being the best in the world.
But for business car drivers, a powerful diesel such as the BMW 530d or Audi A6 3.0TDI still makes far more sense. And if you’re a business owner, then the business car lease on, for example, a BMW 530d M Sport is some £300 less a month to lease.
That said, we will be very interested to test the new entry-level hybrid to see if it can offer an alternative to the many small diesel-engined rivals out there as a company car comparison.
