Peugeot 308 R HYbrid
Peugeot attracted the crowds at the Shanghai show with the all-new 308 R HYbird. Although highly unlikely to make it into production, the new concept acted like more of a promotional feature for 308 range, of which a new saloon version has gone on sale in China.
Nevertheless, the performance figures still have to be admired. A 267bhp 1.6-litre turbo has been paired with two electric motors – one on each axle. Combined power stands at a whopping 493bhp, enough to take the 308 R HYbird from 0-62mph in 4.0-seconds. Peugeot’s in-house racing division – Peugeot Sport – were heavily involved in the cars development.
