Twin turbo engine and L349 finance boost for Saab 9-5

A TWIN turbo diesel engine not only provides additional power to the spacious new executive 9-5 saloon, but with the introduction of a new 1.6-litre petrol engine there is greater choice to the range.

The new twin turbo powers up the 2.0-litre diesel to 190hp and 0-60 in 8.8secs. The new model can be distinguished by its TTiD designation. Prices start at L28,495 for the 2.0TTiD Vector SE.

The more powerful engine, which still returns 47.1mpg, joins the current 160hp unit (0-60 in 9.9secs) and can be recognised by its simpler TiD designation. Prices start at L26,495 for the 2.0TiD Vector SE.

The new twin turbo diesel can be specified with Saab’s all-wheel XWD system, bringing together 4WD and diesel power for the first time in Saab.

“The new Saab twin turbo diesel provides business users with a more powerful choice,” commented Simon Rosenthal, corporate sales manager at Saab City. “But while there’s a slight rise in benefit in kind from 19% to 23%, the new engine comes under the crucial 160g/km corporation tax break.”

Mr Rosenthal also added that Saab was also offering highly competitive contract hire and personal contract hire rates.
