Each app is dedicated to the model you drive – so no irrelevant information cluttering things up

The other key feature of the myVauxhall smartphone app is that – unlike current car manuals, which cover every model in the range – your personal myVauxhall smartphone app will specific to your car.

The app works off the VIN number of your Vauxhall company car so it is specific to that model – in other words you don’t have to thumb through information that’s not relevant.

“We think the myVauxhall app will have really useful applications for managers of company cars because it provides user clarity,” continued Klaus.

“Any questions a company car user may have about driving the car can be answered by the app.”

Vauxhall has already provided an app for the Ampera range extender electric car. The myAmpera app – downloadable for both Apple and Android operating systems – helps with the explanation of icons, warning lights and finding the nearest charging station.

Vauxhall plans to launch the myVauxhall smartphone app in November 2013. It will feature on the new Vauxhall Insignia.
