Vauxhall Mokka review action
The Mokka can get a bit harsh and noisy

What’s not?

  • Engine is noisy when you start up and under acceleration – best to use the engine torque rather than the power.
  • Economy boosting stop start system works quickly and efficiently but kicks back in with a thump.
  • Interior plastics on our Vauxhall Mokka review car were hard and unforgiving.
  • Ride is harsh and over firm.
  • Quirky looks won’t appeal to everyone.
  • Sat nav (Navi600) system is a £855 option (but it’s worth paying for).

Vauxhall Mokka review side view
The Mokka’s practicality is undoubted, the company car tax bill is very competitive, it’s got 4WD and feels very well built. Just decide if you can put up with the ride and noise levels

Business Car Manager verdict

There’s plenty to like and admire about our Vauxhall Mokka review car.

The Mokka is easy to drive with great visibility supported by a brilliant driving position; the interior is peppered with storage bins and cubby holes; the company car tax band of 20% is highly competitive when you consider this model also has the security of four-wheel drive with real off-road ability; and the whole car feels extremely well-built and screwed together.

Vauxhall Mokka review boot
Plenty of boot space, and easily expanded with the split rear seats

The Vauxhall Mokka is also backed up by Vauxhall’s award-winning special SME fleet package that’s been designed to help and support small businesses run their company cars.

And business drivers can try before they buy with Vauxhall’s excellent three-day test drive programme for company car drivers.

Which we suggest you do.

Because you need to assess the two areas that undermine the Mokka’s arsenal of attributes: the harsh ride, and the engine which sounds more van-like than car-like when you accelerate.

If you find those areas acceptable, then you’ll be won over by the rest of the Mokka’s very fine abilities as a company car.
