The VXR8 Tourer – Vauxhall’s most powerful estate ever, and the UK’s most capacious

VAUXHALL has launched its most powerful estate ever – the VXR8 Tourer. Like the VXR8 saloon and Maloo pick-up, the new car has been sourced from Vauxhall’s General Motors Australian sister company, Holden.

The VXR8 Tourer’s 6.2-litre, 431PS V8 Corvette-derived petrol engine is going to rule it out for any tax-conscious company car drivers, even though it’s the most capacious estate (by load volume) on sale in the UK, able to carry 895 litres (seats up) or 2000 (seats down).

Top speed is artificially limited to 155mph, the dash to sixty comes up in 4.9 seconds, and there’s a choice of automatic or manual gearboxes.

Prices start at £49,500 and the VXR8 Tourer benefits from Vauxhall’s standard 100,000 mile lifetime first-owner warranty.
