Earlier this year the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid was launched – a powerful estate car capable of nearly 150mpg and with CO2 emissions of just 49g/km.
Although not fully electric, the V60 Plug-In combines an electric motor with a diesel engine – for extended range and improved practicality.
The company has now initiated a partnership with engineering and electronics giant, Siemens, to develop the technology over the coming months and years.
