SMALL business owners who want to make an impression but without watching the company’s profits drain out at the fuel pump have a new choice.
The new Audi SQ5, a performance SUV that’s also a diesel.
The Audi SQ5 at a glance
- 313PS 3.0 litre bi-turbo diesel
- 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds
- 41.5mpg and 29% company car tax
- Costs from £43,870
Order books have opened for the new Audi SQ5 – but you’ll have to wait until next spring to get behind the driving wheel.
It is Audi’s first ever diesel ‘S’ model and develops 313PS (309bhp) from its 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo TDI.
So expect 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds and an electronically limited 155mph top speed.
On top of that, the SQ5’s TDI is smart enough to emit a modest 179g/km of CO2 while managing 41.5mpg.
Prices start at £43,870, pitching it above the existing flagship Q5 3.0 TDI, which in top-spec S line Plus trim, costs from £42,535.
The SQ5 sits 30mm lower than the standard Q5 and is fitted with exclusive ‘S’ sports suspension for a sportier ride. It also gets 20-inch alloy wheels, and a set of quad exhausts at the rear.
Standard kit includes automatic stop-start, xenon headlights and aluminium-style door mirrors. Inside the SQ5 gets full leather trim, electrically adjustable sports seats and brushed aluminium inlays. ‘S’ badging is apparent throughout.
