Our business cars: Infiniti Q50 2.0T Sport
I’ve had the pleasure of spending the last 2,356 miles behind the wheel of Infiniti’s compact executive rival to the BMW 3 Series – the Q50 in smart Sport trim.
The first thing that impressed me was how good-looking the Infiniti is, when compared to established favourite the BMW 3-Series.
My favourite parts of the design are the curvy grille at the front, the curvy window line and those sporty twin rear pipes. That BMW-like Hoffmeister kick around the rear doors has to be more than coincidental.
It’s not just me that’s a fan of the Q50’s looks.
Members of my golf club have been quick to tell me it’s a bit of a looker, then asking what it is and how much it costs. I think I should be earning a salesman’s commission from my local dealer! In fact, the only problem is my kids think the Infiniti looks so expensive, they’re asking for more pocket money! My youngest asked me: “if I was rich now?”
The classy, upmarket feel to the Q50 carries on inside this Infiniti’s interior. I really like the legible, swipable and pinchable dual LCD screens that dominate the Infiniti’s centre console. The top one is for sat-nav and the clever 360 degree view parking cameras. With the bottom one controlling the other functions, such as the Infiniti Drive Mode Selector that has different driving modes including Sport and Snow.
Our Sport model has all the equipment I could ever need too; leather trim, remote keyless go, sat-nav, LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels.
