GIVEN that hydrogen vehicles are still rare, it was interesting to welcome the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell test car into the Arval car park.

Now we often test cars at Arval to keep our product knowledge up to speed and in turn help our customers with making the right business car decisions.

But this was something a bit different – it was a sneak preview of the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell.

Running a vehicle for business?

Don't leave yourself out of pocket - a guide to what you can claim.

So what is the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell?

Well, to the untrained eye, apart from the large logos down the side, it looks like any other Hyundai SUV. However, the clever bit is underneath that standard bodywork – as this Hyundai is powered by hydrogen.

So how does the ix35 work?

Well, the hydrogen is converted into water in a fuel cell that in turn, powers an electric motor which drives the car.
