What’s not?
- We’re not sure if it was just a problem with the test car, but the six-speed manual felt loose and at times notchy on downshifts, spoiling some of the driving fun.
- Even with the optional wind deflector, there’s too much noise with the TT’s fabric hood folded down, which can become tiring on longer trips.
- Audi continues to buck the trend of metal roofs for convertibles, but even the fabric electrically-controlled system takes up space and the result is 25 litres less at 280-litres and could do with being bigger.
- At £37,795, this TT might be high quality and great to drive, but it’s not cheap.
Verdict on the Audi TT Roadster 2.0-litre TDI Ultra Sport
This could be our favourite new TT, as despite the fitment of the efficient ‘Ultra’ diesel engine and the removal of the roof, this version of Audi’s iconic sports car is as impressive to drive and easy to live with as the rest of the range.
With the 114g/km CO2 figure, the monthly 20% BIK figure and 65.7 mpg economy, this TT makes real sense for business car drivers too.
