The BMW X4 might look like an X6 from the front, but there’s no mistaking its curvy rear styling

All of the BMW X4 engines at launch will be EU6-compliant diesels using TwinPower Turbo technology.

The entry-level diesel in the BMW X4 xDrive20d is an all-aluminium 2.0-litre engine developing 190 PS and 400Nm of torque.

As a result, the BMW X4 xDrive20d requires just 8.0 seconds to sprint from zero to 62mph. With an eight-speed automatic, combined fuel consumption is 54.3mpg and CO2 emissions are 138g/km. A six-speed manual is available as well.

There are also two 3.0-litre straight sixes badged xDrive30d and xDrive35d, which deliver, respectively 258 and 313 PS and 560Nm and 630Nm of torque.

The xDrive35d is capable of blasting from rest to 62 MPH in 5.2 seconds on the way to a top speed of 153 MPH. Combined fuel consumption is 47.1 MPG and CO2 emissions are 157 g/km.

The BMW X4 is already on sale in the UK with prices starting at £36,590 for an X4 xDrive20d SE.
