This is the inside of the new Vauxhall Insignia.
For many business drivers, the Insignia’s cabin will become their next mobile office.
The Insignia is an upmarket replacement for the Vauxhall Vectra.
And this is the first time we’ve been able to see inside those attractive exterior lines.
Vauxhall promises the use of “high-quality fabrics and materials”. The shot of the interior certainly shows a step up from those used in the Vauxhall Vectra’s cabin.
It’s also more design savvy and dominated by a sweeping theme – Vauxhall calls it a “wing” – that flows from the instrument panel into the doors. This is a feature we will see inside other future Vauxhalls.
Details include chronometer-inspired instrumentation and a special interior lighting set-up. At night the cabin has an amber-coloured glow from the ambient lighting. The instrument cluster is illuminated white. Pressing a Sport button changes the lighting to red.
You can see an electronic handbrake and a multi-function steering wheel, both aimed at freeing up cabin space and removing clutter.
The Insignia will make its public world debut at the British International Motor Show, in London’s Excel centre, on 22 July.
