Listen

Once a device is connected to the internet and synced with the stereo, the audio options increase well beyond the traditional AM or FM. Audiobooks can be browsed downloaded, and listened to instantly. CD collections become redundant with ITunes and Spotify at your fingertips. Podcasts open a new world of entertainment and learning possibilities. While radio apps such as Tunein increase the number of stations available from a handful, to more than 100,000.

Plug your phone into a charger and the whole journey can be catered for with a good Spotify playlist.

Learn

Time spent travelling can easily be transformed into a scholastic journey. Language learning applications like Duolingo and Babel provide great on the move interactive learning opportunities. While Kahn academy can help with everything from improving your math to starting you on a history of art course.

Watch

Streaming is becoming the norm for accessing all media content. With the correct technology and applications, DVD collections and bulky portable players are no longer necessary in car. Netflix, iPlayer and other apps can supply any tablet or laptop with an extensive entertainment library, while iTunes can meet nearly any viewing need.

The ability to turn any car journey into a fulfilling experience is out there, it’s just a matter of the right items and applications.
