Health and safety tops business car management issues

Risk management and the reduction of overall vehicle operating costs. These are the key issues facing managers of larger business car fleets.

The issues were polled from a survey of business car managers who have attended Fleet Management Essentials workshops.

Run by Jaama, a fleet software and occupational road safety company, the workshops have been for employees with part-time responsibility for business car fleets.

Jason Francis, managing director of Jaama, commented that he was pleased businesses understood occupational road risk.

But he suggested the next issue that should hit the small business radar was the environment.

Top 10 issues facing business car managers of larger fleets

  • Driver licence checking
  • Legislation and duty of care
  • Risk management and assessments
  • The updating and management of company policies
  • Smoking ban – employee awareness and compliance
