Lexus looks to launch small premium car

A LEXUS alternative to the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series looks to be on the cards.

The luxury Lexus brand showed the LF-Ch five-door hatchback concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The LF-Ch provides an idea of the firm’s thinking on such a car.

The LF-Ch features the full hybrid technology of other Lexus Hybrid drive cars. This means the car can be driven in a fully electric EV mode. This allows for urban driving with minimal noise and zero emissions.

“Showing the LF-Ch tells you two things about Lexus,” commented Toyota Europe sales and marketing boss Didier Leroy. “One is that we want to challenge BMW and Audi with the 1 Series and A3, and two, that we are clear that hybrid technology will spread through all our product ranges.”

As well as the LF-Ch five-door hatchback, Lexus also revealed a revised version of its flagship LS 600h luxury car. Of interest to small business chauffeur firms, there is a new ECO driving mode and revised hybrid battery storage to increase boot space.
