Lexus, NX, distinctive, headlight, grille
The NX’s distinctive styling certainly stands out against SUV rivals

What’s hot?

  • Distinctive styling stands out in a crowd of me-too SUVs
  • High level of equipment means there’s plenty of toys to play with
  • Revised touch-control infotainment system works well
  • Comfortable ride on all but the F Sport model
  • Hybrid technology offers significant BIK benefits
  • Petrol engine and electric power leaves things refined and quiet inside
Lexus, NX, rear, moving
Go for the F Sport suspension and the ride quality of the Lexus NX deteriorates

What’s not?

  • Ride quality suffers significantly with the F Sport suspension
  • There’s an overwhelming array of buttons, knobs and switches inside
  • The excellent Mark Levinson stereo and other desirable options cost huge amounts of money
  • Performance is rather more pedestrian than you might expect
  • The CVT gearbox means there’s an irritating drone from the engine when accelerating hard
  • Tailgate is electric only, and moves incredibly slowly
  • An engine sound simulator on F Sport models produces an entirely unconvincing and quite irritating fake noise in the cabin
