Lexus tops satisfaction survey

If you want total satisfaction there

30 November 1999

If you want total satisfaction there’s only one place to go: Lexus.

The luxury Japanese car maker ticks all the boxes for its customers with an eighth successive win at the top of the car manufacturer charts.

In the latest J D Power/What Car? satisfaction survey, Lexus scored a customer satisfaction score of 866 on a 1,000-point scale.

While you might expect a luxury car maker to do well on car satisfaction, it’s more difficult for mainstream car makers to achieve consistent satisfaction scores.

But Skoda finished second; Honda third.

“This is a testament to the continued efforts of these car makers to provide an excellent vehicle ownership experience,” commented Martin Volk, senior research manager at J.D. Power and Associates.

Car models were also rated. The hybrid Toyota Prius was named the highest ranking model in the survey. Honda had three models at the top of their respective segments: Jazz (small car), FR-V (MPV) and CR-V (SUV).
