MINI five-door 2800
The new MINI five-door is 161mm longer than the three-door hatch.

Engines, gearboxes and trim levels are mostly familiar from the three-door. A 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 136 PS goes into the MINI Cooper five-door Hatch, while the output of the 4-cylinder petrol engine in the MINI Cooper S version is 192 PS. The MINI Cooper D five-door Hatch has a 116 PS 3-cylinder diesel engine (78.5 mpg and 95g/km f CO2 emissions).

One new option – the Cooper SD five-door Hatch gets a powerful 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel power unit that has an output of 170 PS, good enough for a 0-62 time of 7.4 seconds, and combined fuel consumption of 68.9 mpg. All of the five-door MINI Hatch models are EU6-compliant.

Five MINI five-door facts

> 72mm of extra legroom

> 278 litres of boot space (an increase of 67 over the standard hatch)

> 15 millimetres of extra headroom

> 161 longer than the standard

> Three rear seats over the standard two

The entry-level MINI Cooper five-door Hatch will cost £15,900, while the range-topping MINI Cooper SD version comes in at £20,050.
