All-new Audi A3 Cabriolet has a much cleaner profile – thanks to its basis being the A3 saloon model

There will be three engines initially – two petrol TFSI engines and one diesel TDI – although more will follow, including a 1.6 diesel.

The Audi A3 Cabriolet engine line up

  • 1.4 TFSI petrol 140PS, 56.5 mpg, CO2 emissions of 114 g/km
  • 1.8 TFSI petrol 180PS, 48.7 mpg, CO2 emissions of 133g/km
  • 2.0 TDI diesel 150PS, 67.3 mpg, CO2 emissions of 110g/km

So if you fancy an Audi A3 Cabriolet as a company car, expect a company car tax band of 15% in 2014 for the 1.4; and 18% for the diesel.

There will also be a whizz-bang version too.

Audi says it will introduce the first ever S3 Cabriolet with 300PS and 380 Nm torque. Expect 0 to 62mph in 5.4 seconds, trademark S quattro styling, suspension lowered by 25mm and quattro four-wheel drive.

The Audi A3 Cabriolet will be given its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show (12-22 September).
