Ford unveiled the five-door version of the Fiesta at the recent Geneva motor show.

It retains the same visual impact of its ‘kinetic design’ language as the Fiesta three-door.

The dimensions of the three- and five-door models are the same. Both, says Ford, are equally popular with UK buyers.

There will be a range of petrol and diesel engines powering the new Ford Fiesta.

The 1.25-litre (60 and 80PS) and 1.4-litre (91PS) Duratec petrol units will be joined by a new Duratec 1.6-litre Ti-VCT (115PS) option.

There will be two TDCi common-rail diesel engines: a 1.4-litre (68PS) and 1.6-litre (90PS). Later in 2008 a Fiesta ECOnetic model with CO2 emissions below 100g/km will launch.

The new Ford Fiesta goes on sale this autumn.
