Further advice and discounted services from companies such as Road Safety Support, Transport for London, Road Hawk and Specsavers are also available, with further partners set to be announced in the coming weeks.

SME small fleet and business car managers leasing new Volvo models are off to a good start, even without the newly introduced Co-Pilot scheme.

In 2012, the Volvo V40 hatchback was the safest car ever tested by Euro NCAP – and remains so even today.

What’s more, Volvo says standard fit automated braking technology has reduced the number of collisions on some company fleets by up to a third.

Selwyn Cooper, head of business sales at Volvo, said: “SME small fleet managers tell us they find it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to looking after the vehicles on their books, never mind worrying about what drivers are up to.

“We also know driver behaviour is a major factor in more than 90% of all accidents.

“That’s why we’ve launched Co-Pilot, to help businesses fulfil their duty of care to their employees and other road users, and cut the cost of accidents to society and their bottom line.”
