The new Honda Insight hybrid will qualify for a 10% business car tax rating.
While the tax band will save business drivers money, it will save businesses on costs, too.
The new Honda Insight also qualifies for a 100% writing down allowance. This can be claimed against a firm’s corporation tax.
The Insight is a petrol-electric hybrid five-door hatch, which keeps its emissions low.
Honda says the new Insight has CO2 emissions of 101g/km on SE models; and fuel consumption of 64.2mpg.
All Insights are powered by a 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) auto gearbox.
The conventional engine is assisted by a new generation of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system.
The Insight’s IMA system incorporates a 14 PS electric motor, advanced battery pack, and compact Intelligent Power Unit (IPU). This recaptures kinetic energy from vehicle braking and deceleration. And supplies additional power for acceleration when needed.
The Honda Insight has the capability to operate exclusively on electric power in certain low- to-mid-speed driving conditions.
