There’s a range of four petrol engines; and two diesel engines.

The new Polo is just short of 4m – 36 mm longer than the previous Polo. It is also wider, although the height is now lower, giving the new Polo a more purposeful stance.

The slightly larger dimensions and a longer wheelbase increase the Polo’s interior dimensions. Head, shoulder and legroom have all increased, and so has the load volume.

While the Polo was the key car at the Geneva, there were plenty of other important new cars: from the fuel-saving new Toyota Prius to the outlandish Bentley Continental Supersports.

Read about them in our show report.
