Nissan is already placing a lot of emphasis on the technology in the new car.
There’s an all-turbo engine range, that starts with the 1.2-litre DIG-T petrol unit which produces 115PS. That will be joined by a more powerful 190PS 1.6-litre petrol engine next year.
There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel that generates 110PS and 260Nm of torque. Company car drivers will be glad to hear that Nissan is promising tax-friendly sub-95g/km CO2 emissions on some models as well.
Other technical highlights include the availability of safety systems such as Forward Emergency Braking, Moving Object Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Warning. There’s also a second-generation version of the NissanConnect system, which includes full smartphone integration, and LED headlamps will be available too.
Finally, Nissan is promising a “premium” interior with high quality materials and generous standard equipment levels, which, thanks to the longest wheelbase in the class, promises to be very roomy as well.
