Peugeot 508 RXH feature HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology.

Peugeot will also carry on offering its HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology in the 508 saloon and RXH crossover models.

HYbrid4 combines a 163bhp 2.0-litre HDi Diesel engine driving the front wheels with a 37bhp electric motor driving those at the rear, producing a combined fuel consumption of 85.6 mpg and CO2 emissions of 85g/km.

Inside, Peugeot has squeezed in a new 7-inch touch screen which has allowed the dash to be tidied up, with fewer buttons than before.

As previously, there’s also the option of a head-up display with driving and navigation information in colour, viewable in a retractable screen.

Two new safety systems have been introduced – blind spot sensors and a reversing camera that provides a colour image on the touch screen.

Also new, and accessed via the screen are Peugeot Connect Apps, which provide access to services such as information about free parking spaces, fuel prices at filling stations, traffic and weather information, plus tourist information from the Michelin Guide and TripAdvisor.

The revised 508 will be first seen at the Moscow and Chengdu Motor Shows in August, highlighting the overwhelming importance of the Chinese market for 508 sales.

The face-lifted 508 goes on sale in Europe from September this year and in China in early 2015.
