RAW Charging launches ultra rapid Charging Hub at two sites

 The Rapid Hub facilities are designed to deliver ultra rapid EV charging to EV drivers. In England, over 60% of dwellings in cities and urban areas do not have garages or other off-road parking provisions, and so must rely on electricity from publicly accessible networks.

 RAW Charging has installed a mix of 28 new rapid and ultra-rapid EV charging bays and electrification at two sites owned by UK Commercial Property REIT.

Junction27 Retail Park is located at junction 27 of the M62 in Batley, West Yorkshire making it the perfect destination for those who need to charge their vehicle. The shopping centre which is centrally located between Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield is home to a top brands including Currys, IKEA, Barker & Stonehouse, Furniture Village and Pizza Express.

There will initially by free charging syarting at 12:01am on Thursday 14 December and normal fees will resume at 23:59 on Wednesday 20 December.

 St George’s Shopping Park, is a thriving shopping destination in the heart of Leicester. The site is conveniently located for the local community and contains some of the leading brands in UK retail including an Aldi, Costa and Dreams. Free charging will begin at 12:01am on Friday 22 December and normal fees will resume at 23:59 on Thursday 28 December.

 The Rapid Hub facilities are designed to deliver ultra rapid EV charging to EV drivers. In England, over 60% of dwellings in cities and urban areas do not have garages or other off-road parking provisions, and so must rely on electricity from publicly accessible networks.

The initiative aims to support UK Commercial Property REIT’s and a commitments to reducing emissions, and with the UK committing to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2035 the initiative would also contribute to much-needed electric charging infrastructure.

RAW is a provider for destination charging for the hospitality, leisure, and retail sectors, partnered with a range of organisations such as McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, Merlin Entertainments, National Trust, and Greene King.

RAW also works with commercial property owners to develop brownfield land into EV Rapid Hubs. RAW currently operates Rapid Hubs throughout the UK including sites in Slough, Bishop Auckland and Croydon.
