WOW! If you’re a business owner torn between going for a sports car or an SUV, then the new Tesla Model X could be the car made just for you.
Unveiled in the US this week, the Tesla Model X has a price tag as impressive as its performance.
Costing £128,000, this four-wheel drive SUV on steroids will break the 0-60mph barrier in just 3.2secs in its range-topping P90D model (thanks to its two electric motor output of 762hp).
Even Tesla’s creator, Elon Musk told journalists at the launch in Fremont, California: “I think we got a little carried away!”
Featuring sports-orientated gull-wing doors, this huge seven-seater SUV remains a green fan’s icon, boasting a single battery charge range of about 250 miles.
Standard with all-wheel drive and a 90 kWh floor-mounted battery lowers the centre of gravity and Tesla claims the risk of rollover is about half that of any vehicle in its class.
Tesla Model X continually scans the surrounding roadway with camera, radar and sonar systems, providing the driver with real-time feedback to help avoid collisions. Even at high speeds, Model X is designed to automatically apply brakes in an emergency.
