Alloy wheel damage
Sharp edges resulting from poorly maintained alloy wheels can puncture tyre walls

Tip 5 – Broken Alloys

Repair them, they can puncture your tyre wall.

Tip 6 – Buy Winter Tyres

If you are planning on keeping your car for 5 years or more, you should pay less over time if you have a separate set of tyres for November to March. That way, you’re less likely to skid damage your summer tyres, and you’re safer all round. Your fitter will often store them if you ask. Try to ask for a low fitting fee though.

Tip 7 – Keep best tyres on your rear axle

Normally the front tyres wear out more quickly as they do most of the work. In an emergency situation, you don’t want back tyres to skid first, or you might end up in a spin.

When it does come to buying tyres, you’ll soon find the prices are super-elastic. What your car dealer might charge you will be quite different from the online prices available, such as Best4Tyres. The UK online tyre market is now estimated at £100m, and growing rapidly each year.
