Honda has shuffled its team pack and promoted Lee Wheeler to the position of corporate operations manager at Honda, following the departure of Ed Hummell to Glass’s (click to read Ed Hummel leaves Honda fleet post).
However, it’s an interim appointment only, as Honda appears to dither again – as it has done on so much of its product recently.
Still, Honda will need all of Lee’s experience as the company prepares itself for the launch of the new Honda CR-V, which has always been popular with small businesses, and the critical but delayed smaller engined diesel for the Civic hatchback.
Lee first joined Honda Finance in May 2004, spending two years in Central Europe setting up Honda Finance in Austria, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, before moving to join the Honda corporate team.
Following a successful stint as National Leasing & SMR Manager, Lee was appointed Manager – Sales Support and Logistics in 2009 and has latterly been responsible for Commercial & Business Planning.
“I’m delighted to be back within the Corporate team, especially when we have the introduction of Honda’s new 1.6 i-DTEC ‘no compromise’ diesel engine in the new Civic,” said Lee.
“This engine is perfect for company car drivers as it offers a class-leading mix of low CO2 emissions of only 94 g/km without sacrificing on power and driving experience.”
Also joining Honda’s corporate team, which looks after both large company car fleets and SME business car finance, is Jon Jacks. Jon joins the Honda corporate team as National Leasing & SMR Manager after spending the last two years as Dealer Corporate Manager for the Midlands region. Jon has over 25 years experience in the motor and motor finance industry.
