There are also front upper and lower grille surrounds, as well as a front bumper aerofoil and mirror caps in contrasting colours. The standard 17-inch alloy wheels are black. There’s also a body kit with front and rear sports bumpers, side skirts and rear roof spoiler.
Inside, there’s a black leather sports steering wheel and gear lever gaiter, black floor mats and charcoal black sport seats, all with contrasting red stitching.
Andrew Fraser, Ford’s European Gasoline Calibration manager, makes another comparison: “This new 140PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine now delivers more than twice the power on a litre-for-litre basis than its predecessor – the 1.6-litre 100 PS engine that powered the sporty Fiesta S just 10 years ago. I believe this engine sets a new benchmark for power combined with fuel efficiency from a small petrol engine.”
The Ford Fiesta Zetec S Red and Black Edition models are priced from £15,995.
