EV workplace charging

Mounting type

Wall mounted or ground mounted?

  • Wall mounted unit are more economical to install
  • Slow and fast charging units can be wall mountable or ground mounted with the use of a fixing post
  • Rapid charging units are ground mounted and involve civil works (some units can be over 1.8m tall and weigh over 600kgs)

Chris Everett, director of EV Charging Solutions, said;

“Slow and fast chargers are often made with dual outlets; this means that two vehicles can be charged at the same time from a single unit. These units are often more economical so many businesses find that this is the most viable option for them commercially as less chargers are needed to cater for their company vehicle requirements. Obviously, the ‘two for one’ option means that there is no need to install one unit per car – this is a common misconception by many businesses.

“EV Charging solutions offer impartial and expert advice for any business owner or fleet manager that may be considering installing charging units at the workplace. Ultimately, every company has different requirements. This is why it makes sense to seek advice from a company that is a specialist in this area.”

Being seen as a company with environmentally-friendly EV workplace charging makes a positive corporate social responsibility statement – the short term investment can reap great rewards when it comes to weighing up the positive message of promoting environmental change.

After all, it is always good to be green.
